Kingdom come
That’s the name of my team.
We decided we want to bring heaven to earth, doing this by telling people about God, through the Holy Spirit and not by our own means.
We set out on this journey each of us wanting to grow and look a little more like Jesus.
I know no one is like Him. I've never been one for heroes or celebrities, even in the Christian world. Phil Wickham, Francis Chan, and Brother Yun are all great people that inspire me. I have such respect for them but no desire to look at them as special outside of their saint-like qualities.
I have found myself knowing a bit more about what Jesus is like through my team. I never thought I would say this but I want to be like the Jesus in them.
This may seem long but you may also find these gifts attractive and want to grow in all that God desires for you.
I love the value Carmen finds in people. She has the incredible ability to make anyone feel like the most special thing in the world and so loved. Once she knows you, she will look out for you and treasure each moment with you like it's the first or last.
Neysa has such a cool and laid back personality, it makes you want to hang out with her. I've never seen anyone dislike her or not want to be with her. She just draws you in with her words of pursuit. These words have been so carefully chosen but you wouldn't notice because it's covered by the most relaxed and welcoming persona.
My beautiful teammate Meghan has the boldness and wisdom of God. She won't let anything or anyone get in her way of doing Gods work. I see her running after God, growth, and maturity with full force. Once you're in her life she holds on tight and will stomp on anything that comes against you.
Liz has such a gift of sacrifice, one that I've never seen. She will notice or think of the hidden. You could say she has a gift for details by that's not it at all. She watches, or covers, any little last need you could possibly have. Here is one small example: moving a water bottle to the shade, something so simple but only a thought from God. Liz is so generous, never holding back a possession or service.
Okay so those are my girls. As I write this, I can't even believe how blessed I am to have such servant-hearted women of God on my team. Not everyone is like this.
My team leader Ryan is so considerate of people. One thing you learn about Ryan very quickly is that he cares about people. He is gifted with a heart for people. I see him constantly reaching out to people and its every last person, he doesn't miss one stranger. It's always genuine; you know he's not faking it when he reaches out to you. He is quick to make sure he hasn't hurt you even if it's the littlest offense.
Bryan is loyal and honorable. It doesn't matter what you need or what you're going through, he's there. Even if you're alright he's watching out. He's always there to do the heavy lifting, a gross task, or to offer a seat or drink. Every area is covered; he doesn't just cover one area, but has all of them down. He's looking out for you. He's there to talk, joke, or just listen. But it's with realness and friendliness that makes you feel comfortable even if you're a stranger.
If you think about it, these are all traits God Himself has or something He does for us..
This is who I want to be. I want to learn these strengths of Jesus. That's what defines each of them. Any faults they have, which of course they have some, just is not who they are. It’s just not what you see because My God is just so apparent. It's an honor and blessing to serve with them and live together.
