Ok… Not really. But I needed you to understand the gravity of this blog, and the situation I’m in!
That is the title of the blog I SHOULD be writing right now. But thankfully, by the Grace of God… I’m not.
Still, that does not mean I’m out of the water yet. My final deadline to have the full amount of my AIM goal fund raised has officially passed. I needed to have $16,300 in my AIM account by March 1st. It is now March 2nd, and I still only have $11,693… meaning that I am $4,607 short of what I need… and I am officially past due.
But I am NOT giving up! I have not worked and fought for 2 years to get to this point just to give up and go home halfway through my time on the World Race. So until AIM tells me to buy a plane ticket, I am refusing to give up hope in the miracles of God!
Thankfully, AIM is giving grace.. A LOT of it! Technically, I should be buying a ticket home and applying for jobs back in the States right now. Instead, I am spending the week celebrating the half-way point with my squad, applying for a future visa, and preparing for Month 7 of Ministry here in Malaysia. Talk about Grace!
But Grace does not give me the free ticket to slack off with fund raising. If anything, it just means I now have to step up my game. I HAVE to get the rest of my funds in ASAP.
I know that pretty much every person initially reading this blog has sacrificially given to get me to this point, and I know that most, if not all of you, cannot give any more than you already have. I fully understand! And I am SO thankful for your generosity to this point! I am not asking my initial supporters to personally fund my last $5,000. What I am asking for is your support in other ways..
1. PRAY! Pray that God would show up in his mighty power, and that He would provide in miraculous ways! Pray that fund raising attempts would be successful, and that those who should give would listen to the Spirit’s leading.
2. IDEAS! If you have ANY ideas for fundraisers or other ways to raise money, PLEASE share them with me! Better yet, if you would like to organize a fundraiser (spaghetti dinner, pancake breakfast, bake sale, car wash, Tupperware party, etc…) on my behalf in your church or community, that would be AMAZING! I am unable to facilitate those kinds of events from here in Asia, and my parents do not have the time or resources to do them right now either. So I am looking for some generous people who would be willing to step up and put on a fundraiser for me. I would love to provide all the info you might need, make a guest appearance over Skype, or any other ways that I can be involved from here in Asia.
3. SHARE! Do you know someone who is passionate about missions, or even may not a believer but is passionate about humanitarian work? Would you be willing to pass along my blog or my information to them, and ask them to consider supporting me? It doesn’t have to be someone who is rich and would be able to give the full amount (though that would be terrific!) Even if someone gives $20 or $50… that is $20 or $50 that I didn’t have before.
The biggest obstacle I have found in fund raising over the past few years has been the misunderstanding that their contributions don’t matter. But more often than not, my funding for World Race, along with other missions ventures, has come through people sacrificing seemingly small things that add up– skipping a meal out at a restaurant once a week, or skipping meat once a week, giving up 4 specialty coffees a month. People have given what they could, and all these little generosities have added up to big blessings which have allowed me to bring the hope of the Gospel to Asia the last 6 months.
Yes, I have had some incredibly generous supporters that have donated very large amounts, and I am eternally grateful to them! But I am also so grateful for the people who saw the value in the few dollars they were able to give, and were not afraid to sacrifice.
Please feel free to pass on my blog information to your friends and family. I would love to Skype, email, or Facebook Chat with anyone who has ideas or would like to facilitate a fundraiser for me.. or just anyone who would like to know more about what I am doing and ways that they can be praying/supporting. My email is Kat.Kendall12 at gmail.com.
Thank you so much for your generosity.. financially, emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. These last 6 months have been life altering for me, and I have been SO blessed to minister to the people of South East Asia. And I FULLY intend to be doing the same thing for the next 5 months!
