As many of you know, to participate in the World Race program, I have had to fund raise. The total amount that I have to raise is $16,300… plus personal expenses. I am so incredibly humbled and excited to announce that I have raised $10,800! Praise the Lord! Papa has been so gracious, and has provided for my past deadlines which have allowed me to get this far on the Race.
The next deadline is fast approaching, and is March 1st. On that day, I must have all $16,300 raised and in my account. In order to do that, I must raise $6,500 over the next 29 days. It seems like an impossible feat, but Papa has provided time and time and time again for my family and I. I am in the process of sending out one last round of support letters to new potential supporters, but I am also reaching out to the online community.
Many of you have sacrificially given to get me to this point, and for that I am eternally grateful. For those of you who have already given or cannot give, would you pass on this blog post? Pass it on to your friends, family, church groups, small groups, book clubs, garden clubs, or anybody else who might be interested in the work that the Lord is doing here in Asia. If you have been thinking about giving, but weren’t sure of when the right time was… now is the time!
If I am unable to raise the last $6,500, I will be unable to finish out my 11 months, and will instead have to return home after 6 months. While I have faith that the Lord can use me back in the States, I believe without a shadow of a doubt that he has more for me here in Asia. The Lord has revealed so much and grown so many things in me over the past 5 months, and I can not wait to see what else he has in store for the last 6 months. But I cannot continue without your prayers and financial support!
To kickstart this last fundraising push, I am looking to raise at least $1,000 by Saturday February 7th, 2015. IF I DO…. well…… you should just watch this video to see what will happen..
Yep… That’s right. If I can raise $1,000 by Next Saturday, I will eat a tarantula.. one of the creepiest creatures on planet earth (in my opinion). And, of course, I will video tape it for your enjoyment!
So in order to see this happen there are a few things you can do.
-First, Donate! Donate as much as you can.. even if that is only $10. Every donation adds up.
-Second, Share! Share my blog, share the video, share my story… Share it all! Share with your neighbor, with your best friend’s mother, with your daughter’s Sunday School teacher. Share it with everybody! Every middle school youth group would love to see a Missionary eating a tarantula, wouldn’t they?!
-Third, Pray! Pray that I would not only be able to reach $1,000, but surpass it and reach my full deadline. Pray for generous hearts, and cheerful givers. Pray for favor.
