My family is originally from Central Indiana, but I spent most of my "growing up" years as a missionary kid (MK) in Haiti. After graduating from High School, I left my family in Haiti and moved to Hattiesburg, MS to attend William Carey University. I graduated May 2012 with double majors in Psychology and Speech Communication.
Even in High School, I knew God had called me to Missions, Youth Ministry and Urban Ministry. During the 5 years of my college career I had the blessing of traveling all over the United States and occasionally overseas for missions. Each of these experiences instilled in me a deeper love for missions, and a greater sense of urgency to begin my full-time missions career.
After graduating from College, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for an 11 month Missions and Urban Ministry apprenticeship through Center for Student Missions. It was a crazy, hard, whirlwind year of learning, growth, and stretching, but I wouldn't trade it! It was also while I was in the Bay Area that God called me to step [way] out of my comfort zone and go back to the foreign mission field… But that is a whole different blog post! 😉
Finally, for those of you who love random facts: I love shopping at farmers’ markets and thrift stores, watching FRIENDS, eating ice cream, dyeing my hair, wearing mismatched socks, vacations in the mountains, photography, designing tattoos, and Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonades!
