God has proven that my internal voice is wrong and one of my fears calmed! That little voice that kept whispering to me, “I can’t raise $3,500 in two weeks”, was just silenced. I have been watching the total slowly grow over the last two weeks (and BTW thanks so much to all who have made donations!).
When I got home tonight I went to see how I was doing and saw another $300, making my total $2,900. However, it gets even better! Tonight I went over to the home of church friends. They had a backpack for me to check out to possibly take on my race. The backpack ended up not working, but God had bigger plans. Before I left the dad handed me a check. I chose not to look at the check in front of the family feeling it was inappropriate. When I got down the street I turned it over. This wonderful family wrote me a check for $1,500. I couldn’t believe it…I met my goal! So to that family and a faithful God, I can’t say thank you enough!
