It’s hard to believe that we left Thailand two weeks ago and that we are halfway through with our second month of ministry in Cambodia.  Goodness, time certainly does fly (except when the roosters crow).  I have lots of blogs swirling around in my head but wanted to post some pics (as promised) of our time in Thailand.  We spent our month doing college ministry in Kalasin teaching English and partnering with YWAM.

Two adorable little girls we met at a church in Kalasin, Thailand.
Esther and me.  P.S. everyone in Thailand flips the “peace” sign but it actually is the equivalent of saying “Rock On!” in America…which I also love.

Johnny Gospelseeds enjoying the sweet lake & park a brisk 10 minute walk from the YWAM house.  This is where I got my run on and did a little working out at the gym thanks to that $.33 membership fee for the month.  Score for affordable fitness!
Before I even left for the Race I said “I really want to ride (or hang out with) an elephant in Thailand.  Kalasin was unfortunately not an elephant hot spot…or so I thought.  While enjoying coffee outside of our go-to coffee/internet (it’s amazing how much coffee you can suck down for some “free” wi-fi) cafe lovingly named Cafe Love, I looked up and yelped, “OHMYGOSH, there’s an elephant cruising down the street!” Seven seconds later in a mad dash I caught up, fed her some sugar cane and thanked God for making my elephant dream come true.
Our first stop in Thailand was at a Youth Camp (college students) in Udon Thani.   Easiest game of Where’s Waldo ever.
Putting the old adage “safety in numbers” to the test.  Our entire team stuffed into one small Tuk Tuk.  The things World Racers will do to save some baht.
Last day of teaching English at Rahjabat University.
Her name is Wan and I love her.  I drew pictures and she copied them.  Mine were ok, but hers were number Wan.  Wocka wocka.
They say “it’s a small world after all” but sometimes I wonder if it really is.  It is.  We strolled into the only Christian bookstore in Khon Kaen, Thailand and after about 5 minutes of talking to the owner, Blaa realized she went to a conference in Atlanta and did her internship in Birmingham at a church I used to visit during college.  Oh and she worked with a friend of my mom’s.  Yep.  It’s a small world after all!
because that is just a GREAT face!

Stay tuned…more pics to come.

Peace and love,
