Meet my team!

This is Mike. He’s 24. He lives in London. He’s a musician. He likes skateboarding. He has 8 siblings. Recently he’s been hoping that a way in which he can more wholeheartedly devote more of his life to God. And he discovered that the World Race is a way to do that.

This is Alyx. She is originally from the southwestern Missouri/ northeastern Oklahoma area. She’s been in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the past three years attending classes at Rhema Bible Training College. She just graduated this last May with a focus on Helps Ministry. She’s very family-oriented. She’s the oldest sister of six. She said that being an older sister has changed her for the better! Her siblings keep her goofy and always have her on her toes. She knows leaving them for 11 months will be difficult, but she’s expectant of how God’s going to move through our team and she’s confident that He’ll provide for both her family and herself during that time. In her free time, you can usually find her out with friends at a coffee house or in a group setting laughing and joking around. She’s an extrovert and enjoy people.

This is Carsyn. For many years she had this constant urgency pour over her that declared she take a step of faith and take part in something greater than herself. She knew The Lord wanted her to dig deeper into her faith and find a trust in Him that she have never known. She began researching missionary opportunities, but she didn’t feel God’s calling with the ones she came across. It wasn’t until she scrolled through Facebook and watched an acceptance video of a girl, where she discussed how she was about to embark on The World Race. After researching The World Race and speaking with close friends and family, she felt an overwhelming assurance that this is it! This is where God has led her!

This is Anthony. He’s Roman Catholic and was born and raised in the church. He went to the University of Washington and studied Mechanical Engineering. Some of his hobbies/interests are soccer, skiing, hiking, dance, and politics. Anthony’s favorite team is the Liverpool FC, favorite food is Cioppino (Italian tomato-based seafood soup), favorite TV shows are Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and That 70s Show, and favorite book is Undaunted Courage. Some of Anthony’s skills include catching chickens, CAD Modeling, 3D Printing, speaking Italian, and bowling. Some of Anthony’s aspirations are the World Race, live abroad for at least a year, business or law degree, getting a fish tank, build a Nixie tube clock, and ability to complete crosswords past Tuesdays.

This is Clayton. He’s 23 years old and works full time at a water restoration company in his hometown. He’s from Harlan, IN, a small town near Fort Wayne, IN. He attended college for one semester, but he soon figured out this was not for him. Since then he has been working. When he’s not working about 50 hours a week, he is playing or watching sports of all varieties. In the winter, he plays basketball in out church league and the summer is filled with 3 nights of slow-pitch softball. In the times he’s not playing sports, he also likes to hunt, participate in youth group and spend times with family. He has two younger sisters and his parents that he calls family. They all love sports and this is where they spend most of their time together. They are a very close family and encouraging each other at games is what makes them close.
