Hello everyone! This is my first official post on my blog (insert applause). This post is way overdue and I apologize. From being a full time student and having a full time job, in my free time I am either trying to stay on top of homework or trying to catch up on much needed sleep lol. So without further ado, this is the first of many posts along my journey.

Where and When?

For those of you who have decided or would like to follow me on my journey, this is where I will be during which month:

August – Panama

September – Costa Rica

October – Nicaragua

November – El Salvador

December – Malawi

January – Zambia

February – Zimbabwe

March – Cambodia

April – Thailand

May – Indonesia

June – Malaysia

Why the World Race?

One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

I believe this is something that God has called me to do. I desire to be His hands and feet in action. 11 full months of completely relying on Him. Sharing the Gospel and leading others to Christ. Becoming who God wants me to be. Expanding His Kingdom. I want to become more like Christ. I want to go on a World Race because it is exactly what I need. Life gets hectic and sometimes it’s hard to focus on the Lord. Expectations, school, work, etc. get in the way of that. The World Race is where I can focus on my relationship with the Lord and not have all those distractions.

What will I actually be doing on the World Race?

Every day on the World Race looks a little different. Some days will be packed full with construction, VBS, evangelism outreach, building relationships with orphans, or praying for the sick at a hospital. Some days could be slower — shopping for groceries at the market, cooking for others, and spending time praying for the community. Regardless of the pace or the activity, every day will be focused on being a part of God’s kingdom work.

Plans from now until launch

I will graduate in May 2018 from Evangel University. I will go on a business trip to China through my school for two weeks in May. I will go to training camp in July 2018. And then I will leave the country for 11 months and start my journey on the World Race in August 2018.

What is Training Camp?

Training Camp is an intense eleven-day experience where I will connect deeply with the Lord and those going on the World Race with me. Through teaching, prayer, scenarios, and relationship building, I will step out of fear and shame and into intimacy with the Father. I’ll also receive training on how to partner with God to establish His Kingdom on Earth.

It’s designed to be challenging to prepare for the road ahead. I will be put in scenarios that will stretch me, refine me, and bring me closer to Christ. Training camp is a preparation camp to get racers ready for the trip around the world. Evangelism and cross-cultural ministry training, learning how to share stories, and learning to live in close community and adapt to the unknown.

Prayers Much Needed!

I ask to please please please pray for me as I embark God’s plans for me. These next couple of years will be full of overwhelming excitement, life changing adventures, and extraordinary experiences. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I can’t wait to share what God is doing in my life with all of you. I will be leaving in AUGUST 2018. THAT IS IN 9 MONTHS! Don’t forget to click the “Subscribe for Updates” button. You’ll get a notification every time I post a new blog.

That’s all for now. Until next time(:

Yours in Christ,

Karrie
