Our time in Romania has been a beautiful thing. A lot of adventures happened, countless trains were ridden, a lot of emotions were stirred, a lot of new friends were made, and many hugs and laughs were shared. For my first month stepping into a new role of squad leading, it has given me an even deeper perspective of how to lead and do life out of being an intentional friend. I was immensely blessed to spend time with an incredible team as well as with many members of our squad where I saw ministry take on a whole new definition.
I saw traditional comforts tossed aside in order to try something they never thought would be possible for them, I saw brokenness lead musical worship in a way that brought myself and many others to tears, I felt the most joy out of simply spending hours in the kitchen alongside of the most spunky and life-giving Romanian women, and got to hear first hand accounts of redemption and heart transformations by some of my squad mates parents coming out to do ministry alongside of us.
Was it hard? Yes.
Was it a challenging month? For sure.
But it brought me so much joy and gave me so much more encouragement to keep on dancing and to love people right where they are. The Father breathes life into dry bones and is continuing to do so. And I pray that that life is continually being raised up in the quaint town of Draganesti-Olt.
You won a piece of me Romania, a piece I wouldn’t have willingly given you at the beginning, but I am so incredibly thankful for my time with you and as sad as it is to leave, I am so fortunate to take with me your fond memories and love.
Today is our last day in Romania before we fly out to our last continent, AFRICA!
Please keep us all in your prayers as we head into nights of sleeping in airports, a layover in Istanbul, and this new transition into our last few months on the race. It has been an incredible experience thus far and I am expectant that He will continue to reveal even greater things in this next season.
