This past week our World Race team has been living at an all boys home. It’s a refuge for former street kids and children that come from broken families. We feel like 6 Wendys from Peter Pan and lovingly call our boys The Lost Boys. All they want is to be loved. We do our best to spend as much time with them as possible because these 20 boys have our hearts.

The younger boys really enjoy coloring and playing on our skateboards. We love to watch movies together and cuddle. A few of the boys, especially Sebastion enjoy singing. Brandon loves to watch music videos and gets super embarrassed when we catch him dancing.

The older boys like to dance too. Miguel is an energetic aspiring break dancer. Of course it’s harder to get the older boys to show their love so we steal hugs as often as we can. As is typical for most boys, they love to play soccer (futbol).

Getting to know these Lost Boys and having the chance to love on them has completely wrecked our hearts. The word beautiful doesn’t even do them justice. They are so much more than that.

Unfortunately, some of their community still sees them as street kids. It breaks our hearts that not everyone sees them the way we do. We love them so much and want the best for these spunky kids. One of the things these kids really need is new shoes. With all of the soccer they play and all the running around they do, it’s dangerous for them to have holes in their shoes.

A new pair of nice shoes could mean so much for these kids. Be the feet of Jesus by providing the most essential thing a foot needs; shoes. For just $50 you can supply new clothing and shoes for one boy, both for school and for play.

Just imagine how loved and accepted these boys would feel to know that they will have shoes like the rest of their schoolmates. To redefine what they have considered “normal” and wreck them instead with the Father’s love.

All contributions no matter how big or small mean the world. Let’s be kingdom changers together. Let’s show these boys the Father’s love. We thank God for you all.
