So as many of you may know, I am currently in Los Angeles, California. I flew home because my brother is currently in the ICU here at UCLA. Upon flying out here I was told he needed to get a lung transplant within a few days of my arrival. Although he does still need a lung transplant, we are still uncertain on the timing. While he has been here in the hospital they found some sort of virus that has been affecting his lungs. In his X-rays it showed that his lungs were about 90%-95% scar tissue. It may be part of the fibrosis or the virus showing up in the X-ray. Either way, we won’t really know until he fights off the virus. He continues to impress us with his improvements and you can definitely see the fighter in him!
So yes, I left the World Race, but not permanently. I will be returning back with my team soon to continue to spread the gospel to anyone and everyone. However, for now, I will be at home with my family while we face this head on. I am confident God has my family in His hands and He continues to fill me with an unexplainable peace, joy and hope. God is good, all the time + all the time, God is good.
So as you are gathering around the tree this year… opening presents, watching Christmas movies, drinking eggnog or whatever you may be up to this holiday season… please keep the Cheney family in your prayers! Thank you!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
