To my Mom:

Roses are red, and so is your hair.

Read this without tissues if you dare.

Your eyes are green, and your skin is pale,

But you’ve taught me how to try again when I fail.

We used to sing Backstreet and play with pots and pans.

For 23 years you have been the perfect fan.

You encouraged me to dance and sing when I was young,

And you continued to support me when my sports career begun.

Instead of fighting my battles for me, we fought together.

Now I am capable of defending myself forever.

You inspired my crazy dreams and tolerated my pets.

These small acts are memories I’ll never forget.

You find a way and make a way, and taught me to do the same.

Not to mention you gave me a really cool name.

I know you are far and wish I was near.

But this journey will last less than a year.

I hope you have understood what I am trying to say.

These words are your gift on this special day.

To me you are better than any other,

and today I am proud to call you my mother.

Happy Mother’s Day!
