Hey friends and family back home! Sorry I am such a sporadic blogger, but I’ve been thinking of some things to tell you about the World Race.
The Race has been everything and nothing I expected it to be at the same time. I am a month away from the half way point and I am already a different person. I started the World Race thinking God had called me to change the world, but first he called me here to change me. And really it was never about changing the world, but rather loving it.
God has been teaching me some lessons as I’ve worked with youth, drug addicts, and street kids. The biggest lesson has been trust. I’ve had to trust Him to comfort my family as they go through trials without me. I’ve had to trust Him to hold my brother for me while I hold God’s children here in Ecuador. I’ve had to trust that God has called me here, for a full 11 months, for a purpose, and will take care of everything. Including finances.
Pslam 9:10 says, “Those who call your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not b anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”
Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all you needs ac cording to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
Isaiah 43:1-3a says, “the Lord who created you says : “Do not be afraid for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you pass through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God.”
These verses tell us that God is good. The Bible says it, I’ve seen it, and I’m sure you have too.
Right now I need some friends to step up and advocate on my behalf.
I need some prayer warriors to lift up my situation to God.
I am $5,000 away from our final deadline on July 1st.
I write this blogs to praise God for his provision, even though I haven’t seen it yet. But if he fed 5,000 with some fish and bread, he can certain provide $5,000 to the daughter he called by name!
