Month Four here in India was probably my favorite month on the Race so far.  I loved the flight to India, just loved everything.  I especially loved being with my squad.  I loved taking in all the smells and the sights and the people.  It was such a different culture from Africa.  It was so wonderful.  Then we arrived at our base for the next 6 days and it’s miserably hot; we are sweating buckets.  We have a day where we can serve as a squad and start the process of building a church on top of a mountain in the middle of a jungle.

Then my team heads off to the mountain to serve for two weeks.  I dreaded it.  I did not want to leave my squad, the comfort of friends even though I knew the temperatures would be wonderful and I love the mountains.  But, I went and things turned out great.  Our team worked things out; we are doing great.  Part of our ministry for the two weeks was going into the school Partnership Ministry Society and teach classes throughout the day.  Let me clarify this:  the teachers just threw us into the classroom and we had to come up with something to teach on.  They rarely if ever gave us something to teach.  For those of you who know me well, public speaking is not my thing.  I strongly dislike it.  I get nervous, speak too fast, skip over words, etc… it’s awful.  But this “month” public speaking wasn’t an issue.  I went in, I “dared greatly.”  I did the thing that I was most afraid of and I gave it to the Lord.  It was such a fun month to see this come alive in me and my prayer is that it doesn’t stop here, that it continues on the Race and when I return home.  There have been several times when I have had to speak in front of the church or confront teammates or squad mates and I just remind myself of this and everything just comes that much easier.

Please be in prayer with me as I head out into my next month.  Prayers are requested for continued boldness and giving any anxiety to the Lord.

Prayers for heading into Nepal.  Nepal is still in pretty bad shape after the earthquakes so just pray for the country as a whole and the people.

Prayers for debrief; the beginning of month 5 is debrief and it’s our last month with our current squad leaders and we will be raising up two new squad leaders for the rest of the race and changing teams and having new leadership; so just pray for God’s hand in all of this.  AIM does a good job in praying over teams and for those who should be in leadership positions, but it doesn’t hurt to stand with them in prayer.

And pray for finances.  I still have about $4,000 left to go before I am 100% funded for the entire trip.  That’s crazy.  All of this has happened in less than a year and it’s been such a blessing and a huge encouragement to know that people believe in me and are walking alongside of me.  If you feel led to give, please click on the Support Me tab on the top.  Any amount helps and it’s tax deductible.  🙂  Thank you so much!
