Hello from Nepal!

This month, my squad and I are living in a place called Lalitpur, Kathmandu. It is beautiful here. This month is our all-squad month, which means that all 49 of us from our squad are living in one house together, doing ministry together, and living life together! It is beautiful and hard all in one. Sharing one bathroom and one kitchen with 16 girls has it challenges sometimes, but being able to laugh, dance, and grow with my family for the next year of my life has been really sweet too.

We are working with a ministry called TAMI Asia – The Agape Mission International. Pastor Brian and his family run the ministry and they have seen God do incredible things here in Nepal. They primarily work with children at risk, women at risk, and leadership training for pastors and teachers.

This month we have had the opportunity to do MANY different kinds of ministry here in Nepal and no day has looked the same.

Some days look like climbing a mountain overlooking all of the Kathmandu valley to pray and proclaim Scripture and freedom over Nepal.

Some days look like helping put on a soccer tournament for street kids.
Some days it looks like attending a women’s bible study and on the walk home dancing with a random Nepalese woman on the street.
Some days look like renting a scooter/moped for $5 and riding it around the streets of Nepal with some of your squadmates.. And then falling off of it.
Some days look like going swimming with your ministry host’s family and having a BLAST.
Some days it is a little girl running up to you and your teammate Liz with Jesus written on her arm in a country where 1% of the people profess Christ as Lord and Savior.

Some days look like teaching English to Nepalese believers so they can build up the Nepali Church.
Some days look like being led by the Holy Spirit to a local mall to two Nepalese girls to share the gospel with them and to see their jaws drop and eyes fill up when we tell them that our God led us to THEM and He has true salvation for them in Jesus.
Some days look like sitting on the roof hanging out with people on your squad and growing in friendship.
Some days it looks like celebrating your birthday and your squadmates throwing you and your friends that also have birthdays a surprise birthday party.

Some days it looks like FaceTiming family and friends at home because it is just the refreshment that your souls needs for that day.
Some days it looks like having a two-hour team time with your team just sharing what the Lord’s teaching you and struggles with sin and literally living out James 5:16 and praying for one another to be healed.
Some days it is having someone on your squad comb lice out of your hair because you got it in India.. Yep it happened.
Some days it looks like going to an international church (where worship and the sermon are in English!) and meeting believers from all over the world.. Like this beautiful woman named Diya who is a Pakistani refugee that has been deeply persecuted for her faith but is still trusting the Lord amidst her profound pain.

It has been a GOOD month here. The Lord is still teaching so much about Himself and what it looks like to walk in humility with Him and my team/squad.

It’s hard to believe that in a few days we go to CAMBODIA for month 3! We will be working with a children’s ministry there they works with children at risk.

Time flies when you are walking with this beautiful journey with Jesus.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support! Your partnership means so much to me and you are JUST as important sending from where you are as I am being here. I would LOVE to hear from you. It means the world to us when we get the most simple message from someone at home and we get to be apart of your lives too. 🙂 Thanks again, friends!

In Christ,
Karleigh
