Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing this letter to share an opportunity that God has opened up for me. Fall of 2017, I prayed and sought out God’s direction for my life and my future. While I was enjoying being home and working, I began to feel restless for something, but had no idea what I was supposed to do or where God was calling me to go. I was told about the World Race, created by Adventures in Missions (AIM), a mission organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989. Through prayer and after much consideration, God showed me this was the route I needed to take. I felt God’s call to “go out and make disciples of all nations,” (Matthew 28:19-20) and to be His hands and feet while serving and loving His children.

The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries and I have been accepted to a route in January of 2019. I will be traveling with just a backpack to Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, and South Africa. My team and I will be partnering with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the gospel, work in orphanages, teach English, plant churches, feed victims of natural disasters, minister to those trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of God’s love to many tribes and nations. Every country will be different, however the mission will be the same – to help those in need and to spread the love of Christ.

I cannot express my gratitude for the Lord’s calling in this adventure and I have no doubt that when He calls, He also provides. With that being said, there are two goals I need to accomplish as I prepare for this trip and I need your help. The first goal is to create a prayer support team. In Paul’s letters to the different churches in the New Testament, he often asked them to pray for his mission. Prayer is vital to this trip and to the fulfillment of the calling God has placed on me. If you would like to partner with me prayerfully, please send me an e-mail ([email protected]) and I will send you prayer updates throughout my time on the field.

The second part of the preparation is fundraising. The total cost of the trip is $18,200 which includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while being abroad. I have enclosed a response card with my information and a pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry. Please visit my blog page, karlalaskowsk.theworldrace.org, to see updates on my trip and posts while I’m out on the field. You can also make a secure online donation through my blog as well. I would like to thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support. I hope that through this experience I may be a blessing to you, as well as to the people I will have the honor of serving directly around the world.

Thank you,

Karla
