Wow! I never thought I would be here in Albania, right now… It’s mind blowing!
Let me start from the beginning. After a few days in Atlanta, my squad traveled to and through the Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, and finally Albania after 53 hours of travel time that includes 2 airplanes and a LONG bus ride.
Our ministry site is at a children’s camp in Lezhe, Albania. We are partnered with World Vision and have about 120 kids every week. My squad is amazingly blessed this month. We are staying at a beautiful and safe place, have meals made for us every day, three times a day. I love it here so much! 🙂
Today will be the start of our first full week here. It’s a full schedule. We have to be ready for breakfast at 7:15 am then we have a day full of activities. The kids come from all different kinds of backgrounds and the day is filled with activities such as archery, swimming, obstacle coarse, tennis, soccer, rock climbing, art, movies, and more. I would totally send my kids here if I had any. They have a security gate and a security guard at all times so it is really safe here. We do not have internet on site, which I consider a blessing because it’s honestly not a necessity.
I’m not sure if this is a bad thing, but I honestly do not miss home. It has been such an easy transition for me and I have so much peace to say that I know this is exactly where I’m suppose to be.
Sometimes we sing worship songs and say that lyrics but sometimes we don’t mean the words wholeheartedly. At least that’s how it has been with me in the past. A lot of you know that song by Will Reagan & United Pursuit that says “There’s no place that I’d rather be, than here in your love…” well, every time I’ve sung this song lately, it’s coming straight from my heart and I really, really mean it. I honestly can say that there is no other place where I’d rather be than where I am right at this moment, inside of His love, with Him. I just feel Jesus calling my name, calling me to more intimacy with Him, whispering: “There is so much more!” There is so much peace and so much rest in His presence. It is not hard to talk to Jesus or listen to His voice, all you have to do is try and He will listen and He will speak.
This is for you reading this right now: He knows every dream you’ve ever dreamed. He is so proud of you. He’s caught every tear. He’s seen it all. He never stops loving you. He cares. He wants all of you.
It’s all or nothing friends. So give it all you’ve got. The time is NOW.
“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe in him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms….” Ephesians 1:19-20
P.S. Internet is a little slow, so pictures will be coming soon! 🙂
Love,
Karla
