Question: What is the World Race?
The World Race is a stretching journey into 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these” while amongst real and raw community. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom
Question: Why the World Race?
I decided to do the world race because I strongly felt that that’s what God was asking me to do. I was comfortable with the routine of my life and I knew that I was created for more. God had been speaking to me on how to live a selfless and intentional life and this was the perfect way to do it.
Question: Where are you going?
Question: What will you be doing in each country?
Well that’s the exciting part “I don’t know” 🙂 Each month will change depending on the country. Reading past blogs from past racers they have partner with churches doing door to door evangelism, construction, doing vacation bible school, working with children and youth ministries, working in orphanages, prayer walks, teaching English and so much more.
Question: Where will you be staying at?
In each country we will have a host family that will take us in. There are months where will be staying at the local church or a house. We are required to take a tent because that might be our home for the month.
Question: How will you pack?
I have gotten this question a lot. We are basically backpacking through the world. I know its crazy!!!! We have to fit everything in a backpack which so far has been very humbling.
Question: How big is your team?
We travel to each country with a squad of 50 people and then we split into smaller teams of 6-8 people and do ministry in different areas of the country.
Question: How are you feeling?
When I think of leaving everything behind for a whole year to something greater than myself I can’t help but feel excited for the unknown. I know that my life will be changed and transformed. I cant wait to to embark on this life changing journey!!!!!!!
