I read this short little novella about 2 years and the story is still fresh in my memory, as if I read it yesterday. The book is written in the form of a journal, and is a very fast, easy read. Lakshmi is a 13 year old Nepalese girl. Who was sold into a brothel by her stepfather. The book shows how trafficking works, one day your a young innocent girl, the next your sold and your life is changed forever. It shows all the different parties involved: the initial trafficker, a middle man, the brothel owner. The story will give you a glimpse of what life is like for a victim of human trafficking. I would recommend it to anyone who may not be familiar with this issue.
