This past week I had the privelege to go to California to be in a friend’s wedding. While out in California a few friends and I went to Disneyland. Now, Disneyland has a very special place in my heart. I have had so many good times there. I think it is safe to say that I spent more time at Disneyland in my senior year of college, than I did in the library all four years. I.love.Disneyland!

When I decided to go on the World Race, I was a little worriesome on how I was going to afford this trip to California. I have been working and trying to be reallly frugal to save money for the World Race, knowing that whatever support I couldn’t raise I would have to pay the difference. Here’s how the Lord provided: my mom, as a Christmas gift brought my plane ticket. Then, while driving to the airport she gave me some cash so that I could eat breakfast at the airport. Let’s just say she gave me enough cash to buy a few dinners at Disneyland. My first visit in California was visiting one of my friends who lives in the Bay Area. I was completely blessed by her family’s hospitality towards me. She is like a sister to me and her mom and grandmother are like my adoptive mom and grandmom. I absolutely love them. When we were flying down to Socal, to be with the bride, my friend gave me an envelope, it was from her mom. Once again, the Lord showed me that I am loved, and I need not worry about money. Inside was a gift card to guess where? Disneyland! But wait, it gets even better. The bride, her (now) husband works at Disneyland and I was able to get in for FREE!

So why in the world did God provide for me to go to Disneyland? Well, there’s this attraction there called “Great Moments with Abraham Lincoln.” In this attraction we see President Lincoln come to life and hear excerpts from some of his most famous speeches. This is what the Lord wanted me to hear: “I know there is a God, and that He hates injustice and slavery. I see the storm coming, and I know that His hand is in it. If he has a place and work for me – and I think He has – I believe I am ready.”  In just three weeks I am going to face the storm that is human trafficking. The Lord has a place for me in this battle. With His help, I believe I am ready to face the storm.
