mvFirst off I would like to apologize for not posting a blog earlier. We have been really busy and I just didn’t make time to write on. So for that I am sorry.

This morning we had an opportunity to be a blessing to the church that our contacts attend. The church had just built a new building and they asked us if we would help clean and get it ready for Sunday. Yay for sweeping and moping! We get there to learn that some of the girls were going to help. I couldn’t get over how young and beautiful they were. They had brought with them all the cleaning supplies so they unpacked their tuk tuk and the contacts gave us a game plan. As we headed towards the church I went and picked up a bucket. One of the girls was so thankful that I would do that for her. She just grabbed my hand and would not let go, and this lyric came to mind: “just a little bit of love goes a long, long way.” We linked arms and walked up the stairs, we were put to work in the same room. Her and one of her friends would sweep and Carla and I would clean the windows. We just kept swapping smiles, because that’s all we could do. Because i do not speak Khmer and she does not speak English. At one point we had moved to another room and we were kind of just waiting to do something. So I decided I would dance with her. I took her arm and twirled her around. (The night before, I had befriended the daughter of one of the women who work in the hostel and we played and danced for a good long time) hence, the idea for dancing. She just giggled and probably thought that  I was a crazy American. I just wanted to let her know that she is loved. Every opportunity I had, I gave her hugs and rubbed her back. It wasn’t until I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor trying to get grime off the floor, that I thought I  kinda felt like Cinderella. But she is the true Cinderella. A daughter of a King, who is redeeming His princess toward Himself, one hug at a time.
