Arise60.
The more I think about our name, the more I love it. It come from Isaiah 60 which says:
“Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you.
One definition of the word “arise” is: to come into being, action, or notice; originate; appear; spring up.
Whoa.
That is what our team is going to do! We are being called to action; to go shine the light of Jesus in the darkest of places. Darkness has covered the world. It is because of sin that people are trafficked and sold into slavery. 27 million people live in deep deep darkness. Not only do they not know the love of the Savior, but they live in slavery. They live in darkness, darknesses that consists of: rapes, beatings, abuse, shame, guilt, despair-darkness. We are going to give Hope to the hopeless. We know that the LORD, the Great I AM, arose from the dead-conquered death; and He will bring restoration, healing, life, and light.
