Hi Everyone!

Welcome
to my first official blog! After a long process of prayer and debate, I
decided to apply for the World Race. If you don’t know much about the
World Race it is a missions trip through Adventure in Missions that
takes you literally around the world. 11 countries in 11 months. Talk
about an adventure! You can check out their website at
http://www.theworldrace.org/. My Trip is the June 2010 track.
The
countries they have listed for us to go to are (subject to change):
Ireland, Israel, Egypt, Romania, Ukraine, Cambodia, Thailand, Uganda,
Kenya, and two countries of our choice – one in southern Africa, and
another in Asia.
Deciding to do this trip was not a easy process. As many of you know, the past year of my life has been full of ups and downs.
As
I am coming out on the other side, I really felt like I needed to do
something to help me grow in all areas of my life. I had taken steps to
grow emotionally, physically, and the thing that was lacking was a way
to grow spiritually. That is where this trip really caught my
attention. Since my senior year in high school I had always talked
about doing a long term missions trip in another country. However, with
school and life and even getting married, I never thought that trip was
a real possibility.
However, God works in
surprising ways, and what seemed to be the worst time in my life has
really given me a HUGE opportunity to re-invent my life and to trust
God with it’s new direction.
That is my
biggest motivation for this trip. To go help change the world, and
really allow God to change me in the process. I hope that during the 11
months that I am gone that God is able to allow me to help others, show
me His plan for my life, heal the wounds that I have after this past
year, and of course have fun!
As you can
imagine, a trip of this length is very costly. I need to raise about
$15,000 total for the trip. I need to have at least $7,000 of that cost
raised before I leave in June. This is a HUGE task, especially in this
economy when so many people are fighting just to have food to eat and a
house to sleep in.
However, if God wants me on
this trip He will provide a way to raise the money. Once I have a link
to the site where I can raise funds I will post it and hopefully that
will allow me to start down the long road of raising the money I need
to do this trip.
This blog is a way for me to
not only track my fundraising, but to keep everyone informed as I get
ready for the trip, and as I am on the trip so that all of you can see
where I am and what amazing things God is doing in different parts of
the world.
Thanks so much for your support and
prayers and for taking the time to read about this new Adventure that
is occurring in my life.
Love you All!
Kari
