Welcome to my next
adventure….

WoW!!

Who would have
thought I’d be writing a biography for an adventure like this involving 11
countries in 11 months, different cultures, languages, foods, unexpected and
unfamiliar surroundings, loving people, and a complete

leap of faith out of my comfort zone into the unfailing arms of God
by trust??

Well, God did!

And it’s pretty SU-WEET (a commonly used
‘Kari’ phrase)!

As for who I am…my name is Kari Stembel.

I have always enjoyed traveling, ministry,
meeting new people and telling them about God’s unconditional love for
them!

In the past, I have enjoyed
opportunities including visiting friends in various parts of the world,
mentoring teenage girls through a discipleship program, as well as
participating in other short term mission trips both here and abroad.

I love adventure!

So, some of the simple and basic things you may find me
doing are, spending time with friends and family, relaxing in coffee shops
(even though I’m not a coffee drinker), leading a group of Jr. high girls at my
church (I love those girls), running, watching Notre Dame football (Go Irish),
talking online, and looking for my next big adventure.

I have lived in good ‘ole

Indiana my whole life and have been blessed
immensely to grow up in a Christian home with loving, supportive, and
encouraging parents.

I also have a
wonderful brother (23) and sister (19) both younger than me (yes, I was the
guinea pig).

I accepted Christ as my
Savior when I was four years old and was baptized at the age of six.

In fourth grade, I dedicated my life to
serving Christ and really living for Him, which became a major mile stone for
me.

It wasn’t until seventh grade that
God really opened my eyes to all of the unsaved friends around me everyday and
gave me a passion for evangelism.

My
heart broke for the lost.

Since graduating from college in May of 2006 with a business
degree and a minor in psychology, I have been searching for my place in life and
waiting on God’s leading.

I
heard about the World Race several times but blew it off because going out of
the country for a year was out of the question, or so I thought.

God had different plans and it was only
through His patient leading that He brought me right where He wanted me!

Colossians
3:17
has been my life verse ever since I can remember and is always on my
heart.

I may not always live it, but
Jesus is breaking me, molding me, picking me up when I fall down, forgiving me,
and walking with me each step of the way.

“And
whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Colossians 3:17
