Day #2 of LAUNCH training! (feels like a long time actually)
7am…Bright and early, our wonderful “alarm clock” Sarah came in to let us know it was time for devotions. It was a rough night of not sleeping, so the early morning was not a welcoming thing for me. We had a good day of discussing ways to handle conflict out on the field. We also did a few team building activities as well as activities expressing who we are as individuals. The better we know each other and how we respond to certain situations, the better we’ll be prepared out on the field to serve together and be unified.
We’ve been busy already, but tonight we had a night off of meetings after supper and were allowed to go off AIM base! I took the opportunity to take a cold shower (well, not the hair yet and oh my-I’m sure I’ll get used to that sometime this year…) and the chance to get together and hang out with Caroline at her place 10 minutes away. We had some really good talking time, I got to meet her wonderful dog (and I’m not a dog person!) and she made me COOKIE DOUGH!! Anyone who knows me, knows that cookie dough is pretty much essential to life, so I was happy to accept that as we talked.
I have been quite tired all day today, so it has been hard for me to be completely energized and excited like I would like to be, especially about getting to know my team and working together. But I can see God preparing us one step at a time.
Please pray for:
*our teams to continue to bond and unify
*for good sleep tonight and nights to come
*for my parents as they are driving home
*my time with God to be meaningful and something I long for (it’s a struggle at 7 in the morning!)
*continued preparation while we’re in GA (packing, spiritually, community, emotionally etc..)
*those we will be ministering to (pray their hearts are being prepared now)
*laying down of ourselves, our selfishness, and focus on Christ!
