A while back, the Lord showed me a verse I had never even noticed before. This verse rocked my world.
Proverbs 21:31
The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the Lord.
I have read this verse dozens of times, but never really got it until that day. It led me to begin questioning all of things I had been trusting in and where I should be putting my hope instead.
Just recently, this verse has been coming to my mind again. Once again, the Lord is renewing my mind and showing me where my trust should be directed. This has been a very refreshing time because when our hope is in God, there is peace and safety. His Word is alive and active, so when He speaks to us, He does it in power and we are changed!
In John 15:3 Jesus says “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” God’s Word changes us, people!! Hebrews 4:12 says that the Word discerns the thoughts and intents of our hearts. So, when I came across Proverbs 21:31, the Lord brought conviction and a desire for change. I am so excited that we have a God who will change us by His written word.
Not only should we be putting our hope in the Lord, but also in the Words He speaks over us and through us. His voice is powerful. Psalm 29:8 says that His voice shakes the wilderness. I don’t know about you, but this makes me want to know His word and seek His face!
