It's easy to judge something we don't understand.  When something or someone is different, I often jump to conclusions by judging the book by its cover.

I often pass judgment based on someone's physical appearance, the clothes they choose to wear, or even their body language.

In reality, the heart is the only thing that should be taken into consideration.

In my last blog I talked about the looks I've been getting because of my tattoos.

I've been in the DR for a week now and I'm starting to understand the culture and the people a bit more.  I'm starting to understand that I'm not being judged.  Rather, the looks are out of curiosity.

At church a few nights ago, our new friend Jordy wanted a matching tattoo.  While I don't condone tattoos, I was happy to see that he understands you can have tattoos and still be a Christian.

In the last week, we have visited a number of schools. During our visit, we've talked about the Bible, fun facts, favorite verses and personal testimonies. This afternoon alone I spoke in 7 classrooms and got a number of looks. Regardless of the looks, each student listened intently when I told them how much God loves them, how he created them with a purpose, and how he can cause all things to work together for good.  I believe my heart was understood.  Even if it wasn't, I will stand firm based on how God views me and who he says I am in him.
