When we arrived at his house, we were slow to get started.
However, Monica jumped right in. She told him that Jesus loves him and so do we. She told him that we believe God can heal him and that's what we're going to pray for. Beyond that, we have no expectations.
We asked if we could lay our hands on him then immediately started speaking life and healing over his young, innocent body. As soon as we began praying, I noticed the peaceful look on his face and saw that his eye lids were fluttering!
I truly believe the Holy Spirit fell on him in that moment!
After some time passed, we asked him if he felt anything. When he said no, we instantly jumped back into praying. Liz jokingly said "the Bible tells us to pray without ceasing and that's exactly what we'll do!"
Liz prayed into our team name, that God's DUNAMIS power would show up! We were all pleading and wrestling with God to show up in a big way but we accepted God's healing, however that may look.
Again, we asked the boy what he was thinking or feeling; this time we got a different response.
He said he felt a chill on his left arm. We informed him that sometimes when the Holy Spirit moves we feel goose bumps, but it's nothing to be afraid of.
We kept on praying, binding, and interceding on his behalf. After more time passed, we again asked if he was thinking or feeling anything.
He said he felt heat from beneath his foot! WHAT?!?
At this point, we felt even more empowered to speak life and healing over his heart and body! Monica was praying over his mother, hugging and comforting her, while the rest of us continued to usher in the Holy Spirit.
A few of the girls had their hands on the boy's leg and they said they felt the muscles twitching in his foot and leg! The Spirit was definitely moving!
We noticed that 4 of the neighborhood boys were gathered around us. It was dark, late, and far from where we normally see these boys – how did they know where we were?
We invited the boys to lay hands on their friend and pray for him.
It was the sweetest moment I have ever witnessed! And those prayers were heartfelt – one hand was on their friend, one hand was lifted towards the Lord, and their heads were bowed!
We were in agreement that there was a spirit of healing in the air, but also felt like it was time to seal the night in prayer.
We are continuing to pray for this young man – that he will experience supernatural healing, that he will be free of cancer and pain, that he will enjoy his childhood and live to be a old man.
Please pray for him as he goes back to Santo Domingo to the cancer center for another round of chemotherapy on Tuesday. Pray for financial blessings over his family – his treatment is extremely expensive!
Anyone who becomes as humble as this little child
is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven!
