The past weekend was filled with many hard goodbyes, from friends to family.
It was extremely hard saying goodbye to my niece and nephew.
Neither really understood the difference between this "bye" and a normal "see ya tomorrow" bye.
My sweet little niece seemed to get it when she saw the tears running down my face.
It was hard leaving because I know I will miss out on a lot over the next 11 months: weddings, birthdays, holidays, etc.

I keep reminding myself that I may miss things back home, I will experience so much this year.
!!I'm freaking going around the world telling people about Jesus!!
How cool is that?!?
I'm leaving my family and friends to make new friends and form a new family.

On Sunday, prior to leaving Jacksonville, my church family commissioned me out and threw me a "Send-Off / Birthday Party"!

On Wednesday, September 5th, I flew to Chicago for additional training before leaving the country.
Over the last 2 days, we have gone through training on what it takes to be a World Racer, the importance of a positive attitude, how to handle offenses, what ministry may look like on the field, etc.
As a team, we have worshipped together, prayed together, debriefed together, laughed together, given feedback to each other, heard the Lord's voice for each other, gone on a treasure hunt together, had Chicago-style pizza together, etc.
Tomorrow I am officially leaving the country for 11 months!
My squad will be working throughout the Dominican Republic for the next month.
My team and I will be working out of Azua, DR.
We will be living with our contact, Pastor Raul, his wife, and their two children, ages 5 and 7.
We don't know much about what our ministry will look like other than equipping others with the gifts God has given us!
We are departing from Chicago at 7am, connecting through Miami, Florida and arriving in Santo Domingo, DR late Saturday night.
Please lift us up in prayer, for traveling mercies, positive attitudes, that we'll all get our visas, etc!
