Since mailing out an update letter 2 days ago, God has provided $400!
Last night, an amazing friend hosted a dinner and game night in my honor! She provided dinner and asked each attendee to make a $10 minimum donation towards my World Race. What a huge blessing – not only did I leave with a significant sum of money, but I had a night filled with laughter, fellowship, and new friends.
Currently, I am 67% funded! Praise the Lord!!!
I am still in need of $5,083.85 before I'm fully funded. This may seem like a lot of money, but this is pocket change to my God! I am more than confident that every last penny will be in my support account before I fly to Chicago on September 5th for Launch!!!
I cannot express my gratitude towards each and every supporter – financial or worthwise. I would NOT be where I am today without YOU! I pray for God's blessing over your lives!
This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus! Philippians 4:19
Greetings Loved Ones!
I hope this letter finds you well. Over the last several months, God has been leading me through a season of preparation. There are four major events he has been preparing me for: my final day at work, leading a church mission’s team, World Race training camp, and the World Race. In the last six weeks alone, three of these four milestones have come to pass!
My final day at work was June 22nd. My career at Target began in 2002 working as a cashier – over the years I was able to move up in the company – I was promoted to Senior Team Leader in 2010. Working as an assistant store manager in a retail setting was extremely stressful; however, I believe God blessed me with that position as a platform to display the unconditional love of Jesus Christ amidst a wide range of people and circumstances.
Recently, I was blessed with the opportunity to co-lead a team of 10 people from Celebration Church to the LA Dream Center. This was a stretching assignment that required me to trust God in new ways. I not only had to trust God to lead me personally, I also trusted that he would lead the team through me. The team did a remarkable job ministering to the lost and hurting in LA. We experience a lot of fruit in the few days we were there (June 25-30): 11 salvations, 2 healings, 100’s prayed for and fed, 1 crack pipe thrown away, blessed and encouraged many Dream Center staff and volunteers, carried and spread our joy and light everywhere we went, purpose given, dreams restored, vision cast, hearts healed, burdens lightened, food multiplied, and countless things only God knows about!
From July 14-21 I was in North Georgia for the World Race training camp with roughly 300 other sold-out young adults who are also preparing to travel to the ends of the earth proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ! Going into training camp, I knew very little about what to expect. I knew going into the week that my beliefs, personal rights, and expectations would be challenged; my faulty foundation would be knocked down and replaced by a firm foundation of truth.
My expectations came crashing down much sooner than expected though – a few hours after arriving! During our first evening session on July 14th, we were presented with information regarding rights and expectations. While the speaker was concluding, it began raining outside! Actually, it was more like a torrential downpour! Needless-to-say, I hadn’t expected to spend my first night camping in the rain. To be quite honest, when I got back to my tent, I wondered what I had gotten myself into. However, after making it through the first night and the rest of the week, I trust God will strengthen me every step of the Race!
Overall, training camp was hard. We were given little information about the schedule of events; when we were given information, it was only a few minutes beforehand. However, everything that happened was intentional and intended to prepare us for life on the field. We were encouraged to simply breathe deep and press in! Training camp was also intended to help us build community with our squad mates. During the course of the week, we were divided into smaller teams of 6-7 people. These teams are who we’ll travel with during the Race.
Since committing to the World Race, I’ve been blown away by the support I’ve received! God has been moving in remarkable ways. God is constantly reminding me that he is my faithful provider, what’s impossible for man is possible for God; and his word never returns void but accomplishes what he desires and achieves the purpose for which he sends it. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each of you who have supported me thus far! Without your support, I wouldn’t be where I am today! Thank you! My prayer is that you would consider continuing your partnership, prayerfully and/or financially, to do God’s work in the nations.
If you feel led to join my prayer team, please consider interceding for me, my team, my squad, the ministry we’re partnering with, and the country we’re working in on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. I will be traveling to: Ireland, Romania, Moldova, Tanzania, Mozambique, Swaziland, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Dominican Republic and Haiti (travel route currently unknown).
Currently, through the generosity and obedience of others, I have raised $10,000! I must raise $5,500 by March 2013 to be fully funded; however, I believe God will provide it before I launch on September 5th.
If you feel led to support me financially, please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions, include my full name in the memo line, and return your tax-deductible donation to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta GA, 30353-4470.
