Well, I have been home for over two months now and having time to process the race I decided I want to write what I learned on the race. Each country was so different I learned new things every month so I thought I would break it down by country.
Philippines: The first month on the race I had to quickly learn to let go of control. Before the race I controlled every aspect of my life, leaving no space for God to work. I learned that once I let go of control, the anxieties I had went with it and I started relaxing in the Lord.

Malaysia: After getting stung by a stingray I learned of God’s protection, as I was told I could have died. I also learned that my teammates were not only my co-workers but caring friends who supported me through it all. I learned that it is okay and actually a good thing to need people.

Vietnam: I learned to talk confidently daily to a room full of people and found out that I actually enjoy it.

Cambodia: I learned how to love people and show them God’s love! From the naked toddler playing in a garbage pile to an old sick woman wanting me to hold her hand.

Thailand: I learned when I am weak He is strong! Exhausted, feeling like I have nothing left to give, He keeps me going and shines through my weakness.

South Africa: I learned that I have a strong voice! Most of the month I was sick but God called me to speak at the local high school.

Swaziland: I learned how to stay positive and have a good attitude through trials and tribulations of many kinds! Agriculture…let me tell you, one of the most frustrating things!

Northern Ireland: I learned that God loves me! Northern Ireland was not one of the countries on our original route and I was disappointed when it was put on our route, but what a beautiful, refreshing and needed month it was.

Transnistria: I realized God was showing me how proud He is of me and He can make me brave.

Romania: I learned perseverance through spiritually dark tough times.

Albania: I discovered the importance of community and I realized I am loved!

Overall the race taught me: The importance in having the JOY of the Lord. If God gives me a task to do He will give me what I need to see it through. God has so much more planned for my life than I could ever imagine! He has a great adventure planned for all of us! Will you step out on your own adventure?
