I am not really sure how to start this blog, and I am very hesitant to even write it, but at this point it has to be done. I am just going to cut to the chase:
I am running extremely low on personal money.
As in my bank account is hovering at just about $100 and I am just starting month 4 of the Race. While on the Race my personal money has been used for a range of things. Some of them I took into account before the Race, others of them have been surprise expenses. Also, I didn’t start out with all that much money to begin with.
With me wearing the same clothes over and over again for three months I have had to purchase some new ones to replace the old ones that have worn out. While we had our layover in America I had to replace my backpack, wich was ripping in multiple places, as well as get a larger water bottle because mine just didn’t hold enough for the amount I need to be drinking. I am also in desperate need of a new pair of work shoes. The sneakers I brought on the Race were not in the best shape to begin with, but they are what I had, and now they are all but falling apart at the seams. There is also everyday stuff like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, razors, laundry detergent, etc. that need to be bought as they run out and sometimes even the “off” brands are expensive. Also, even on travel days we are on World Race budget, and sometimes $4 a day for food just doesn’t cover it (have you tried to purchase 3 meals in American airports for $4? I am pretty sure it is impossible) and I have to supplement it with my own money.
Then there is the obvious: I am traveling the world and there are just some things that I want to be able to experience. I really only have a few things that are on my “must do if I can afford” list this year. One of them is riding an elephant, which I am hopefully doing tomorrow! Another is when we get to Nepal in October, and I want to take a helicopter ride around Mount Everest. Those are the two really big ones, but we have off days in every country and we like to explore and find new things to do. I try to keep my excursions on the cheap side, but even little things add up.
With all that said, I am asking for your help. I do not know about you, but I feel like all I have done this year is ask for money which is no fun, but God is using it to stretch my faith in Him. I know He is going to provide for me and I am not going to go without my necessities. I am also learning He wants to give me the desires of my heart, even if some of those desires are frivolous.
So how can you help:
1. You can put money into my Paypal account by looking me up using email address [email protected]
2. You can give money to my parents who can put it into my bank account. If you do not live close to them
you can mail a check to:
A huge PRAISE is that I am only about $2400 from being fully funded for this trip. Thank you so much for all you have done to help me get this far! I am learning more and more that this trip is more than just for me, but you are all a part of it too. Whether you have given financially, prayed for me and my team, or given me an encouraging word, you are a part of this trip!
So thank you in advance for helping me out in this area!
Love you all
