I’ve never been a fan of journaling but, this past year I had challenged myself to journal more. I tried to write down my prayers, and write down the specific details of what I have prayed, so later I could look back and see that God has heard, and responded to each specific detail. June 2016, I wrote down a prayer that was focused on the people I would encounter after I graduated. At that point I wasn’t sure if I would be at college, or taking a gap year and traveling.
Essentially I prayed for people who loved Him more than they loved the things of this world, I prayed for people to encourage me, uplift me, and be my comfort when I had none. For 1 specific person that I could trust with everything, and have no doubt each word they spoke would be wise, truthful, and glorifying to the Lord. I prayed over the people I would encounter praying that they would be growing today, tomorrow, and every day leading up to whatever adventure we would be on together whether that be college life, or somewhere else. I prayed for my own happiness, wellbeing, and to be surrounded by people to make my negative thoughts positive each day.
I am overjoyed to report this prayer has indeed been answered. As I get to know each person who will be on my team with me next year, slowly but surely, each one of these details are being confirmed. I have no doubt that next year will be the best year of my life thus far, and I am excited to see how the Lord plans to answer and respond to each individual prayer I pray between now September.
