I wish I could tell a story of how God gave me vision of the World Race, and I knew it was meant to be. Although, if I am being honest, it really started with Instagram stalking a friend of a friend. After seeing multiple posts about this girl traveling all over spreading the gospel I decided to look more into it. I was discouraged when I saw that the minimum age was 21 and forgot about it for about a year. This July I was sitting in a hotel room in Cambodia researching gap year programs, or really anything that would allow me to put college off for another year. The World Race was the first website to come up. After looking around on their website I found the gap year program. That night I spent hours reading blogs, watching videos and doing more Instagram stalking to see what this was all about.

September came around and the 2017 routes were release. There were 3 things I was looking for: 2 countries in Africa, 2 countires in Central/South America, and I didn’t want to go back to Honduras or Cambodia (as I had already been multiple times and knew I needed to step out of my comfort zone). I looked at the 6 routes, and route 5 was the only one that fit in the criteria. Without much thought I applied. I wasn’t set on the idea of actually going, but the next 2 weeks were filled with a lot of prayer and the decision was made.

God works in the funniest ways, and has guided me through so many little steps to lead me here. The way I came to the World Race Gap Year may not seem like anything special, but for me it was nothing less than a miracle.
