It is becoming more and more common for me to take a journal entry of mine and turn it into a blog. I want nothing more than for you all to experience this trip along side of me, and my journal is where everything is recorded.
Random thoughts and notes from this past week:
Romans 12//
Be JOYFUL in HOPE
Be PATIENT in AFFLICTION
Be FAITHFUL in PRAYER
Isaiah 29// I will destroy the wisdom of the wise I will expose so called experts as crackpots Lord will you humble me today.
Silence my own voice, may yours be loud and clear.
Sharing the gospel—act with urgency. I desire to fully understand the urgency of sharing the gospel. I am here to share, I am here to expand the Kingdom. There is not time to waste
ASK GOD WHAT HE THINKS OF YOU
– Kara Nicole, I have claimed you as my own. You are my creation, I have chosen you. I took you as my daughter long before you took me as your father. Friend. Valued. Seen. I put inside of you bravery and perseverance, walk boldly and with confidence. My love for you is deeper than you will ever understand. Kara you were worth dying for. Chosen.
What will it take to fully trust in the Lord. Am I there yet? If I can trust my dad, I can trust my heavenly father. I know my dad loves me unconditionally. What is stopping me from believing that my heavenly father does as well?
Praise the Lord for VBS
Day 1 we had 60 wild kids running around
Day 2 we dumped many many cups of water on sweaty kids, and heard the most giggles Day 3 we ate popsicles with kids who love Jesus
A prayer for the day: Fill me with your grace Jesus, I want to show others just as much grace. Speak through me today.
Radical by David PlatT Page 60
Instead of asserting ourselves, we crucify ourselves. Instead of imagining all the things we can accomplish, we ask God to do what only he can do. Yes, we work, we plan, we organize, we create, but we do it all while we fast, while we pray, and while we constantly confess our need for the provision of God. Instead of dependence on ourselves, we express radical desperation for the power of his spirit, and we trust that Jesus stands ready to give us everything we ask for so that he might make much of our Father in the world.
12/16/17 A very normal day of ministry. I spent the morning gardening with Kate and Josie, we organized the lettuce, trimmed a few basil plants and replanted the mint. Our American friend Emily brought us cookies, wooo. Lunch time we spent “sewing skirts” (Kate did the sewing, I did the encouraging). We ate a tuna melt and veggies. I finished reading 1 Corinthians—Paul has so much to say, I wish I could sit and have coffee with him. After a brief nap we did outreach on our way to movie night. We showed Exodus tonight- a little graphic and probably not suitable for all the little kids we had—oops. It was so cool to see all the new people who stopped in, even just for a few minutes, My prayer is that people see Jesus in us, and these movie nights will glorify the Lord fully. Thanks God for this day.
CHURCH-
• God is honored by our great requests—ask big (God—I am asking big for fundraising my trust is in you)
• Give God your tomorrow and live in your today
• Fear does not come from God- we are his CHILDREN
• Without faith it is impossible to please God Search my heart Lord.
Take away my desire to gossip, the words coming from my mouth should glorify you. I do not want to give into the temptation of my flesh. You are enough for me.
Praise Jesus for Kaheso—thanks God for a neighbor friend who makes me laugh. I pray for strength and energy. I pray over her baby, for a sweet and safe delivery. I ask that you give her wisdom to parent her son, may you give her and Duck words of love and grace.
My journal is a crazy place with a lot of thoughts. These are just a few from this week. The Lord has been so faithful in speaking to me, and I am pumped that I can share some of it with you all.
