The best gift you can give the world is becoming exactly who the Lord created you to be.

Think about it. It’s kind of crazy that out of the 100-something billion people who have ever roamed the earth, no two of us have ever been exactly alike – or genetically identical. Not even identical twins. God doesn’t make mistakes, and he doesn’t repeat himself when it comes to humans. Each one of us, a completely unique, one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Never repeated.

Just like fingerprints.

That is completely mind blowing to me.

According to scientists, human cells divide trillions of times during their lifespan – which means even identical twins could have millions or trillions of genetic differences in their DNA over the years.

That means that not only are we are created unequivocally unique and one of a kind, but our bodies are physically different from one day to the next, one moment to the next even.

Mind. Blowing.

So let’s zoom out a little – or a whole lot more – from minuscule human cells. In the past 30 years, scientists have learned that there are about two trillion galaxies in the universe. The exact right conditions that create a planet where humans can live and breathe is incredibly rare – including the distance from it’s sun, the stability of it’s orbit, and even the size of it’s moon.

How rare and beautiful it is to even exist.*

(climbing up out of the rabbit hole I just went down)

You, my friend, are a living, breathing miracle. But instead of getting so caught up in the beauty and wonder of it all, we get caught in the comparison trap. We allow ourselves to be caged into boxes of what our culture says we should be. We clip our own wings.

I want to bring in scripture here because this is important. Ephesians 1:4 says the Lord chose us “before the creation of the world.”** He knew us before time began. God created the world *for us.

I believe that “The universe was made to be seen by our eyes.”***

So let’s remember that we’re:

Miracles

God’s chosen

Not one in a million – One in ONE HUNDRED BILLION.

Let’s stop comparing ourselves, our stories, our whatever, to someone else. We’re unique – we simply don’t compare.

Your story matters.

YOU matter.

What are the things that make you unique?

Let’s let ourselves find those things and grow. Flourish. You be you, Boo. Be the “you” the Lord created you to be. Because no one else can do it for you. And you only have a once-in-a-one-billion-chance to do it.

Will you take it?
