I know that who I am now, will not be the same person that comes home from World Race. I crave that. I want to be transformed and stretched and challenged. I am excited to see what the Lord holds for me. But in complete authenticity, I am also a little scared. The World Race is going to be hard, harder than anything else. The simple truth is I cannot do it if I’m relying on myself. 2 Corinthians 12:9 is a verse close to my heart, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me”. I am unable to grow and change and love and serve well if I try to do it on my own. I am pathetically incapable, but God is so great. And so, I find rest in the Lord’s promise to use my weakness and bring His name glory. With that as my foundation, I embrace the chance to grow with wide open arms, though I know it will be the hardest thing in my life so far. Whoop whoop! This is gonna be great.
That being said….
People! I am so beyond excited for this next year spent in Haiti, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Botswana, and the Philippines. Please please please keep me in your prayers next year and even leading up to departure in September 2017, we all know I could use a lot of prayer.
