After 4 flights, 3 layovers, and lots of overpriced airport food, we are finally in South Asia!! … without any major hiccups I might add (…as long as you don’t count ripping my airporter or forgetting that you shouldn’t use tap water to brush your teeth(rookie mistake) // thankful for tent patching kits and God’s protective power–> YOU AIN’T GOT NOTHING ON ME, TAP WATER!) I will definitely not be making that mistake again.
The culture is vibrant and fast paced, which means crossing the street means taking your life into your own hands. I may or may not have had one of those “my life flashed before my eyes” moments. Somehow the 65 year old man, who moved like a snail, made it over easier than I did.
Thankful for the Lord’s protection, new experiences, sweating profusely, and the really spicy food from the restaurant with stray cats roaming around your feet. I cannot wait to dig into ministry and immerse myself into this new place. Stay tuned for more posts to come about ministry, life, and month 1 on the Race!
