-Nepal-November-Month 5-

My month (5) in Nepal looked a little different from my previous months on the Race. Towards the beginning of the month, we did have the chance to do some outreach in the community, handing out tracts, as well as climbing to a temple at the top of a mountain to pray over the city.

But during November, there were big elections going on in Nepal, which resulted in protests and lockdowns, where all shops and businesses closed for multiple days. Just as a precaution, we spent the days surrounding the election at our house not going out at all. So we spent the majority of the month within the walls of our ministry contact’s house where we were staying.

This time was not lost, though. Our ministry fit well with the limitations of our month. We worked with an organization focused on human trafficking prevention. We got to work with the ministry behind the scenes researching and creating new curriculum to educate young adults.

We also had ample time to love on and play with our ministry contact’s two daughters, nephew, and niece who lived where we were staying. We had fun playing games, doing each other’s hair, and hanging in our hammocks together.

Although it wasn’t the most exciting ministry, as we spent most of our time at home in front of a laptop, it was still important and it matters. The research we did and the curriculum we developed are lessons that can be taught for years and years and will impact numerous people.
