(My pictures won’t upload INTO my blog but they are under Snap Shots to the left side of the screen so please look at them)
So this is Valerie (see picture :))  Today she is a month and 2 days old.  When she was born she weighed 4 lbs and was 2 months premature.  She was born to a mother who is 18 and I am not sure anything about her father, other then the fact that He doesn’t want her.
Yesterday, Valerie weighed 2 1/2 lbs…. Her mother doesn’t want her either and thinks it is funny that people actually want to take care of her.  She refuses to breastfeed her or pretty much do anything for her.  She has actually said she just wants to throw the baby away.  Valeries parent’s don’t care about her life and she is unimportant to them.
Two days ago a 16 year old said that she would take care of this precious child.  Unfortunately this girl doesn’t know how to take care of the baby and was feeding her pineapple juice.  She doesn’t have any means of being able to support this child.  So a beautiful gracious women intervened and took the baby to a clinic.
She found out the little girls weight (2 1/2 lbs) and that apparently her heart and everything was working fine but SHE NEEDS FOOD!!! One of our translators was moved so much that he went and bought the baby 6 bottles, which will last her about 3 days.  Even after just one day of feeding Valerie looks so much healthier.  Her new mom gave her the name Valerie and is now a mom of 5.
It is so warming to see that there are people in this community who care and all the women of God came together these past few days to pray and try to save this beautiful child of God.  Please keep this baby girl and her mom (Bella) that God will continue to provide for them both and that this miracle of God will bless the people of Guachupita and glorify His Name.
Check out the pictures of how small Valerie is under Snap Shots.  The full body picture was the day she was rescued and taken to the clinic.  The picture of her hands and feet are the day after.  She is holding onto Micah’s pinky finger in the one picture.  I pray this child will grow healthy quickly, it is crazy how smalll she is and how many bones are viisible and pressing up against her skin.
LOVE!
P.S. I leave for Haiti on Saturday- Port-Au-Prince, we will be working in an orphanage called HIS home for children (which actually has a website, check it out, I haven’t even yet!!)  There are going to be 125 children from the ages of 0 to 13!! 🙂
