I know this is about a month ago but our last night in Haiti we decided to throw a little party for the kids. We decorated the balcony with glow sticks and Christmas lights, set up a speaker system, made rice crispy treats and huge bowls of popcorn!!!!
I complied three videos and burnt them onto a DVD for HIS Home. As all the kids made their way upstairs we played them the video I made about the house there, the one about Haiti and the destruction, and then the one that was an overall video of the kids! Once we showed them all the videos we cranked the music up and got the dance party started!!!
The kids had so much fun and loved being able to let loose and be a little silly. The sun had already gone down and Michael Jackson and some other favorites were blaring for a good couple of hours while glow sticks and popcorn were tossed around on the balcony! I would have to say that it made for a PERFECT ending of our stay in Haiti. I still think about those kids a lot and love them dearly!!!!
