Tomorrow will be our last day of ministry in the Dominican Republic, it seems like it went by so fast. Its amazing how many relationships God can form in a matter of 3 weeks… Three weeks ago when my squad first arrived in San Juan we were strangers to this town, and for the most part strangers to each other. We were stepping out in faith into the unknown..

Now with only 3 weeks in the rear view I feel like a whole new person. The stretching began the moment of arrival and relationships have been formed. I am honored that God placed me on team BLING and blessed me with 5 amazing big sisters whom I love very much. Not to mention the rest of my brothers and sisters on my squad….

My team has been doing childrens ministry in the park….. When we are at the park with the kids we usually love on them, play sports, sing songs, and perform a skit from a story in the Gospel. Its not fun to think that we are leaving these kids that we love so much, but because God did form these relationships the kids were open to us and we were able to plant seeds. Team Bling is leaving San Juan, but God isnt.. He is here and fully alive I have seen it with my own eyes. So I trust that He will be sending someone along to water the seeds that we were able to plant.

We have also been doing nursing home ministry with the elderly. Its funny because walking into this I didnt think I would be able to build relationships with people I couldnt even understand. With the kids it was different because I could relate to them by playing sports with them…. Once again I put expectations on God and He showed up big time. The language barrier has not been an issue. I have a whole new view of ministry, sometimes it just involves me sitting with Carlos and George at the nursing home not even speaking a word, just sitting beside them keeping them company (lol, and when they talk you just nod your head and smile) . I sometimes feel like their grandaughter just sitting there holding their hand. By spending time with these amazing people you would think they were the happiest people because they are always smiling and laughing. These are the same people that never even come out of their rooms or even talk until we walk through the gate…. I know that God had us in the nursing home to just show them His love and thats exactly what we did.

Outside of ministry the Lord put some really awesome believers in our path, Fara and Hosea. Hosea owns a resturaunt called Bienvenidos and Fara is a school teacher. They are both very awesome people who love the Lord. We have been able to spend some time with them and have developed some very good relationships. I will not even mention how much food I have consumed because of these two…… : )

There are so many other people in this town that we have made relationships with and its amazing to know that God is here and He is fully alive. Its awesome to know that within this city there are locals like Fara and Hosea who God is going to do awesome works through.

So at the end of this week H Squad heads to Haiti, My team along with Team Koinia will be staying at Canaan (an orphanage). I cannot wait to see what God wants to do through us there. I will keep you updated! Thank you so much to all of my supporters !
