So my 21st birthday was on Feb 20… Being that it was celebrated in Haiti I wasnt sure how that was going to look. But once again when I say my team is awesome, I mean they are “Awesome” and they never seem to prove me wrong.
From the minute I woke up I began to recieve little notes about suprises I would
be recieving through out the day and at unexpected times I would recieve the gifts.. These suprises included all of my favorites which include Coca Cola, Pepsi, White Chocolate, Snickers, Twix, Fried Spam(lol), Pickles, and cookies… After dinner my team brought out my birthday cake which Blair prepared in the dark with no measuring cups (lol)…. It was pretty much the most amazing thing I have ever put in my mouth : ).. It also included all of my favorites, German Chocolate with chocolate icing and White chocolate chips on top and all mixed in the cake mix… If you know team Bling you know that we had no problem eating that cake.. Within 5 minutes of bringing the cake out we were looking at an empty cake pan 🙂 After eating the cake, I recieved my last note that told me about a little trip to a resort my team and I would be going on.. I know I know… My team is the absolute best… So we all trusted our fearless team leader Liz with our lives on the streets of Haiti and loaded up in an SUV to drive the whole 2 minutes down the road to the resort where I had a really awesome time just being able to enjoy being with my team and relaxing… Not to mention wrestling Ashley on the beach, and losing : )
The night ended with my team reading me the top 21 reasons why they absolutly love lil bit (me)… and by reading me a poem that they wrote about me… They were both Hilarious… : )
Its funny because the days I think would be the worse for me always turn out to be the best.. I thought that being away from home on my birthday would be hard… Just like I thought that missing my best friends wedding would be hard… But its on these days that I didnt even think about home because the Lord was doing such a good job showing His faithfulness and love. He has blessed me with the most amazing team of girls.. Yes, my team knows the way to my heart through all of my favorite things because they have began to learn me.. and yes this was a plus on my birthday… But without love that day would have meant nothing.. and it was easy to see that my team put every bit of it in there ( I mean come on, who finds fried spam in Haiti ?)… So the best gift of my birthday wasnt my favorite little things I got here and there… It was my big sisters that showed they really love me.. I had the best 21st birthday than I ever imagined and I am honored that I was able to spend it with my team whom I love so much. They did an amazing job!
