Wow! I can finally say it! I’m officially into month 2 of the Race and that seems crazy to me! Time is certainly flying. We have been here in Thailand for 3 days and it has truly been amazing. This place is beautiful and so very different than Cambodia. But also different than Cambodia is our ministry here.
I am excited to tell you about the ministries that are going on here. But first, I want to go ahead and let you all know that due to the risks of these ministries what I am able to tell you will be limited. This blog will give brief details on the ministries, but if you’d like to follow my journey through ministry this month I am going to ask that you a) either ask for the password to my future Thailand blogs, or b) send me your email address so I can send out an email update each week rather than a blogged update. This is all due to the fact that I want to keep my ministry host and my squad safe this month and not do any harm.
Our ministry host currently has three different types of ministry: Prevention, Intervention and Restoration. All of these ministries deal with bringing Kingdom and God’s redemption.
The prevention ministry deals with community service and going out into the villages to play with kids, teach english if necessary, put on a vbs if possible and the like.
Intervention ministry deals with going out into the city and building relationships with people. Through that relationship we can then show Christ through our love and our actions and bring hope that they haven’t had before.
This then leads to Restoration, which is where these people get to be discipled in their faith and come to know a different life. We get to work along side of them and show them, again, Christ through our lives and actions.
I realize that all of what I put above is very vague and I apologize. I want to keep you all informed, but this is a hard ministry and the web can be a dangerous place.
Please, keep my squad in your prayers and if you’d like to stay informed about this month’s ministry, comment below with your email address or send me an email directly.
Till Next Time,
Kara Faber
