To say that I have changed since I applied to go on the World Race would be a completely accurate statement. I have changed and I’ve changed a lot!
I was never one to be a fan of change, but I have found in these last three months that ALL I want is change. I want to change to be more like Christ every day! And everyday I have to ask God to work in me to bring that about.
I went from spending small amounts of time in God’s word and prayer daily to wanting to spend my entire day with God and I love that. I love being in a situation where I don’t question what I should do, I just pray and give it to God. I love learning more about God through His word and through resources that He’s been using to draw me closer.
I went from wanting to keep my personal relationship with God and my outside world separate to wanting to completely intertwine the two so that God is in my every thought and conversation.
I went from not wanting to share my testimony because I didn’t want to be hurt to wanting to use to help others grow closer to God.
I went from a lack of trusting God to provide to seeking Him for every thing and knowing that He WILL provide.
And let me tell you how God providing has been such an humbling experience. Fundraising has been hard but it has probably taught me the most. Asking people for things has never been my strong suite. I’ve always tried to be the one people ask things of but not the one who does the asking. I wanted to be self-sufficient and self-reliant. I wanted to provide for myself so I wouldn’t have to LEAN on anyone else.
But with this World Race mission trip has come the need for funding. Every time I start to stress I am reminding myself how God has provided. He did so in ways that I didn’t think were possible and He did it through all of you, my supporters.
I want to thank you all for joining me, believing in me, partnering with me and ultimately sending me. Your generosity has been what has taught me that God provides, so THANK YOU!!

Fundraising Update: I am currently at $8,306 in my World Race account which is 50% of the amount I have to raise.
In 5 weeks—36 days—I will be headed to Training Camp in Atlanta, Georgia. It is 10 days full of worship, learning, encouragement and bonding. It is going to be filled with many scenarios that we may face out on the field, but it will put us through them as quickly as possible.
I’m SO excited to meet my squad face to face. We have grown together and become like a family already and so to finally be able to meet them is going to be extremely amazing.
But I’m also nervous. Once training camp arrives it brings the World Race into complete reality. When I get back from training camp I will only have 42 days left before launch and that is just nerve wracking to me.
But, even though I’m nervous I am still excited for what God is doing and is going to do. I’m excited to see God at work in my team’s life and in the lives we come in contact with on this journey. I’m excited for the change that will continually happen in my life because of the hardships I face and see others facing.
I head to launch in 88 days!! That means that in order for me to be fully funded I have 88 days to raise $8,256. Each month I would need to raise $2,752 and each day I would need to raise about $94. If just 88 people said YES to partnering with me in giving $94 I would be FULLY funded.
Right now, my goal is to raise $2500 a month and I am trusting God to provide and help me meet these goals, but that means He’s going to use YOU so I need YOU too!
To help me raise this money, I’ve organized several areas to do that.
First! I’m selling CHEESECAKES!!! in the Roanoke area. If you have had my mom’s cheesecakes then you know just how wonderful they are! I’m currently going to be selling two different types: New York Style Cheesecake (Plain) and Almond Joy!

Doesn’t that look delicious?!
New York Style: $35
Almond Joy: $40
Because of having to purchase food items to make the cheesecake, payment would have to be given to me rather than by donation online.
Second! I’m hosting a CARWASH and Bake Sale with my Squad Mate Ruby on Saturday, July 23rd at 2733 PETERS CREEK RD NW in Roanoke, VA from 9am to 2pm!
If you would like to come out and get your car washed, I would be so thankful! BUT if you’d like to support me by volunteering to help wash cars, run the bake sale, or make goodies to sell I would appreciate that as well!
If you’d like to help in this way please contact me via phone call/text message or by clicking the contact link on the left hand side.
Third! My cousin has graciously offered to host an online Norwex party. It will be the 4th week of July, and if you’re on Facebook you’ll get a event invite reminder. I’ll try to remember to post a link in one of my upcoming blogs 🙂
Fourth! My Sister is putting together a Fundraising Concert which is to be titled WITNESS! It will be on Tuesday, August 9th and more details about this will be posted soon. Please mark your calendars because it will not be an event you want to miss.
Thank you all again! I am so encouraged by all of your support!
Till Next Time,
Kara Faber
