Hello, I am Kara.

Nice to meet you! Or I guess you are meeting me.
I am a 26 year old native of

Oklahoma.
For the last three years, I have been living on the beaches of

Wilmington,

NC.

How did I end up here?
  Good
question! Technically, I drove 24 hours with my two dogs, Pucchini and Abner,
dragging a small U-haul east on I-40 till I hit the
Atlantic Ocean.
A better explanation would be that I want to
try to make it on my own and God wanted to teach me “a lot” about myself.
Besides laying on the beach, I work as a
full-time nanny.
When I am not with my
children, I hang out with friends watching the TV classics, 24, Top Chef,
Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance and Law and Order. Also, I attend

Port

City
Community
Church,
PC3,
where our mission is ” To reach
people and help them walk with God.”

What is our secret, rocking worship, flip flops and total dependence on
God.
Why would a nanny choose to join
the World Race? Any excuse not to go back to college.
Seriously, I do not have anything against
college.
In April of this year I was at
a crossroads in my life.
  Finishing
college was what everyone thought was best, however my heart would not release
me from a call to missions. After dedicating my life to Christ, I was at a
convention for youth workers four years ago, it was there that I felt God call
me to missions.
  My first thought was ”
How cool!” God first thought was I had a lot to learn before I could go.
  What have I been learning?
First and foremost, God is the ultimate
authority in all things making anything possible.
He is faithful no matter how flighty I
am.
Above all else, He loves me.

Well, I hope that you will stay tuned and see what all God
has for me and my team and the other World Racers.
