We finally made it. I am sitting in an internet cafe surrounded by the sites and sounds of my home for the moment. Thanks to my friends and family who did so much in the last month to help me get ready. Shopping every day, packing, reminding me of things, praying for me, writing me words of encouragement and affirming me. There are no words to express how grateful I am to each of you for all that you have done.
Palenque is beautiful. Lots of jungle foliage, mountains, Mayan sculptures, colorful buildings and warm people. We are staying at the Shekinah Bible School. It is a wonderful training center where pastors and leaders can come and receive training. I have a bed which is pretty exciting. Everyone is in good spirits and eager to see what God has for us here. The World Race 2008 July squad is pretty awesome. Currently we are training at the center in the morning and going into the city in the afternoons. At night we have speaker and worship. Repeat for the next 29 days and you pretty much know what I am doing.
Our time here as already been amazing. God is already prepare us and binding us together in our teams and as a squad. We hope to share his love with this community in a relevant way. The process involves alot of observation and prayer and following God’s leading.
