Hello!
Firstly, thank you for being here. Without awesome people like yourself for keeping up with me, I would never get through this process.
I have decided to spend 11 months of my life serving God and being His hands and feet in 11 different countries. I have had a desire to be a missionary for a couple of years now with my love of travel, culture and truly being there for other people.
The truth is- I have a very comfortable lifestyle right where I am. I have the best girl friends you could ask for and a perfect little house (awesome roommates, cute dogs, and most importantly- 2 extra closets to borrow from). I have an incredible job that allows me to travel, super cool Christian coworkers, the best small group ever (no exaggeration!), 2 awesome churches I attend, and last but not least, I have family nearby. However, I still want more. I know this sounds selfish, but this “more” comes in the package of service. I want to give myself completely over to God and live out what He wants me to do- whatever and wherever that takes me. To pack up, sell off and ship out to a simple, yet adventurous, lifestyle for awhile.
I thought in the beginning I would just read a few World Race blogs, maybe apply, and if all went well I would interview. Theory became reality when I received the acceptance call, nervously telling my whole office that I plan on leaving, which brings us to right now as I begin writing this blog — because it’s happening for real y’all!
During this almost year-long journey, I will be traveling to the following countries:
1. India
2. Nepal
3. Thailand
4. Cambodia
5. Vietnam
6. Rwanda
7. Ethiopia
8. Bolivia
9. Peru
10. Ecuador
11. Colombia
I will be working a month in each country with a ministry and squad to meet the basic needs of the people living in these countries. First world problems have never felt so real.
After much prayer, consideration and guidance from certain peeps (you know who you are) this is what is right for me, what I feel called to do, and I will need as much help as possible!
With all of this being said, there is a lot to be done before I leave August of 2017. Firstly, in order to go I need to fundraise… ready? $17,617 dollars. Yep. Any and all donations would be an incredible help! Cliché but true “every donation counts no matter how small.”
I would also ask that you pray for me. Prayers are amazing! God can do so much through our declaration of words. Prayers that this process is met fully, prayers that my squad meshes beautifully, prayers that we are safe, prayers that we are effective in our community, prayers that this journey encourages another to live bigger, etc.
This is a huge deal, and anything and everything is extremely appreciated.I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!
