Airport drama, but alas we are here.

The truth is the flight got cancelled, no biggie we got to stay in a fancy pants hotel in Atlanta for one more night and after seeing our plumbing situation here, it was a pretty good setback.

India is so different. To be expected, but the culture shock is real. Here are a few observations from a gal who has lived here approx 48 hours-

  • -Who needs toilet paper when you have water
  •  The new ‘yes’ is a head bobble.

  •  The exchange rate is huge so everything seems severely expense but in reality it’s all like $2 bucks (still struggling with math and team treasurer- go Kamiren go)
  • Trash everywhere
  • Ridiculously beautiful clothing
  • Seriously extroverted and equally adorable children live here
  • Traffic laws? Debatable
  • Monsoon season is real
  • Goodness I love curry

However, all things aside, I feel like this is exactly where I am supposed to be. I keep having the remind myself I am on the other side of the world since this all feels so right. I am sure the newness will die off and things will get hard after so much time, but I have peace trusting that the Lord chose me for this and I am choosing Him back.

So far we have had trainings on trainings on trainings and everyone seems a little antsy to get the ball rolling, but good news! We will be heading to our first ministry tonight where we will be working for the next 3 weeks, and I couldn’t be more excited to get going. We will be meeting our host in the morning and then not quite sure where we go from there, it sounds like our ministry does a little of everything.

Please pray for safe travel as we will be on an overnight bus tonight and then open hearts when we arrive. 🙂
