I was running from person to person, trying to beat other racers from getting there first. I was weary and ready to give up. I felt as though it was fruitless effort. Our prize was not to have bragging rights on making it there first, but to get funds first. And my opponents were not my fellow Worldracers, but those who also have dreams that need to be funded.
This was the dream I awoke from a few nights ago. At first it seemed ridiculous. After all, I am not competing with any one for money. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized this is exactly how it feels, deep down under all the confidence. It is as if I am competing for funds. So many people and organizations are out there asking for individuals to fund their mission, whether God driven or otherwise. It seems as though by the time I reach them that they are already tapped out. It’s not as if they are stingey with their money, but that they have already given most of it away. This is why fund raising is such a difficult thing to do. Unless you are asking for money from people who have a never ending supply of money, or from people who never get asked to support a cause, it can be difficult to get a positive response.
So then how do we get funded? Should we run around in a fruitless effort to try to beat our opponents, to secure funds first? Not if we plan to have enough energy to focus on the mission we are asking for in the first place. Instead we should ask the one who really does have a never ending supply of funds…God. I am not in a race for funds, because God has already planned for the funds to be there. All I have to do is ask, then wait for those who are appointed to give, to give. It is time to rest up for the real race, especially in the sub conscious, the place where true feelings often hide.
If you feel as though God has appointed you to give, check out the Support Me! link to the left. Any little bit you can give will be multiplied in a big way!
